A letter from Mrs Dunn

Dear families,

I am delighted and incredibly proud to be writing to you as the newly appointed Headteacher of Arden Primary School. Having served as Acting Headteacher here at Arden since January, and having been part of the Arden family since joining as Deputy Headteacher in 2022, I feel honoured to have the opportunity to lead such a wonderful school community.

Arden achieved a fantastic result in our 2024 Ofsted inspection and that success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff, children and families. However, we know that there is always more we can do – and I am committed to building on our successes to continue to ensure that every single child here thrives academically, socially and emotionally and is inspired to reach their full potential.

I have many fond memories of my own childhood spent with family in and around Bredbury (I told the children in assembly just this week that I had learnt to ride my bike in Vernon Park as a child!), so it feels incredibly special to now be leading a school community in an area that holds such deep personal significance for me. Outside of school, I am kept busy by my husband, our three sons and our very excitable dog. If I’m not on a sideline at the weekend watching my children play football, you’ll most likely find me watching the mighty Stockport County, where it’s always lovely to spot familiar faces from Arden in the stands.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have been given the opportunity to lead a school with such a strong sense of community and shared purpose. It’s a privilege to work alongside such talented staff and supportive families and I am excited about what we can achieve together in the years to come.

Thank you for your continued trust and support. I look forward to working with you all to make Arden the very best it can be for our children.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or fancy a chat.

Mrs J Dunn
